Decisions and the Body

Fri, 26th October, 2018 from 9:30 AM, in London

This experiential workshop offers a playful exploration into how our embodied wisdom can inform our decisions. The invitation is to consider the body as an instrument for collecting data about our current truth and emerging future. Using a series of embodied experiments, we tap into individual and collective intelligence to gather insights about our choices, blocks and opportunities. Each participant is encouraged to bring one or two decisions they are considering to make. Openness to experience and a beginner’s mind are the only prerequisites.

Please dress comfortably and be prepared to move your body and take off your shoes. May we suggest wearing comfortable clothes so that we can sit or lie on the floor.

About the Facilitator: Ioana Popescu works as Professor of Decision Sciences at INSEAD and visiting faculty at LBS and holds a PhD in Mathematics and Operations Research from MIT. She is also a mother, an artist, a bit of a nomad and many other beautiful things. Her journey with decision making started off with mathematical modelling and data analytics, then on to psychology and recently brought her to embodied experience.

The session will take place in our normal London venue, the lovely Amadeus Centre near Little Venice.  A light breakfast will be available from 9:00am and formal events will start at 9:30am.  They will complete by 12:30pm.  Sadly we are unable to offer our normal delicious lunch this time, as Kay is away.  We hope you will be OK with contributing £45 for the morning.

If you have never been before, Sadler Heath is an not-for-profit organisation where all of us, including Ioana, come on their learning edge.  Our events are experiential and experimental and many people come also for the rich connections that are made in our shared learning.  This session will be moderated by Jeremy, whose role it is to keep the space safe and open for all of our learning together.
